A long winter's nap

Just call me Rip (as in Van Winkle)! Awake now and ready to rip, as in plant some lettuce seeds under the grow light. My new helper, Moses, has other ideas. In fact, Rip would've been a good name for him had we not wanted to straighten him out on his heritage. My plastic pots have been sealed in chicken wire and surrounded by mousetraps to keep them from becoming colanders. Those poppers, we hates 'em!

Way cool. Since I never saw the old format, I can't vote. But I do like this format and feel!

That would be Moses, the Border Collie mix we adopted from the millionaire's Hispanic maid (next door) on Dec. 17th. Formerly known as MoMo.
He was the sixth member of their household in a small apartment and is bilingual.
In retrospect, might not have been the smartest move after my lumbar laminectomy Dec. 4th.
He's five months old give or take a week, gaining three pounds a week and presently at 38 pounds, about 19" at the shoulder.

Thank goodness he's a border collie, b/c at the rate he was growing, he'd soon be holding up JB in a compromising position!

Ha! He's already running this house like clockwork. Me, up at an ungodly hour for a walk, scheduled mealtimes, scheduled dog park hours (mid-afternoon when it's warmest).
To tell the truth, his exact bloodline is murky, but his personality syncs with Border Collie. One day soon I will tell the story of how MoMo became Moses and learned English.
