Not walking, speeding to Memphis on Wednesday--suddenly the landscaped changed, right about Jackson. An hour-plus north of Memphis I suddenly became aware of the damage caused by the tornadoes that ripped through the area two weeks ago, killing fifty souls (photo taken from the highway). The trees were snapped off about twenty feet from the roots. I could see the wind's path which cut a wicked swath across the highway, I assume in the direct path from Union College.
