Nashville in the Spring

Photo copyright Stonehoney Stonehoney said goodbye to Nashville last night, at a raucous show at 3rd and Lindsley. They've moved back to the hills of Hollywood, via Memphis, Wisconsin and Chicago (check their calendar on Stonehoney's myspace). It was fitting, in that twisted Nashville fashion, that their last performance was the best I have seen. I felt privileged to share it with an eclectic gathering of loyal supporters. And of course, that mattered not to the Stonehotties. They sang and played like songbirds, as if they were at the Ryman Auditorium. Probably a testimony to the rigors of the last three months, they seemed pretty happy to be singing ¡adiós! to Nashville, hinting at possible greener pastures in New Orleans and Austin, and their beloved Los Angeles. I can live with that. ...the boys say when're'they gonna give us some room, the girls say god I hope they come back soon...

Thanks for the great write up about us Mona. It was nice seeing and speaking with you last night and it feels wonderful to know we're headed out of this strange town for a while. We'll be back though. We've met some great people and have a cool, loyal group of fans/friends that make it fun to play here. We will be back!

Mary, I am glad to hear they're puttin' the pedal to the metal, high-tailin' it, cookin' with gas, and full speed ahead to L.A.

I don't want to think about the party when they get home. Mainly because I won't be there. Heh, heh...
