After the tenth compliment, I knew she had to begin marketing them. After the twentieth, I began to ask what it was that people liked. Few knew that this bag is handknit by my daughter, that the process is called
fulling, or felting and that the bag is incredibly lightweight, strong, and water-resistant.
Some like the shape, some love the color, others like the size (I used it to stow purchases and many of the comments were from clerks). It started when I carried it exclusively everywhere in Austin, and has continued in Nashville. The most frequent comment was that they thought I had a bag made of grass!
So Emily, my talented grad student daughter at FSU will be making the bags to order.
We're still looking for a price point, and
jk suggested $80. We think it is a fair price, but will see how it sells. Custom orders are a possibility (Emily designed this) and she will work with you on colors.
Check out the cool snap, which is a feature I love.

I am now working on a marketing strategy for my return to Austin in three weeks; suggestions are welcome!
